Red Sage

Red Sage (salvia miltiorrhiza) is widely used in traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of abdominal pain and menstrual disorders.  Modern studies are evaluating its ability to prevent and treat injury caused by heart attack and stroke.  The primary active component, Tanshinone IIA, could potentially replace blood thinners such as warfarin.
